My leather seats are starting to crack and I'm not sure if it's my fault
Quote from clarissamacWhirter on October 14, 2026, 7:06 amNoticed last week that the driver's seat bolsters on my Continental have these fine cracks appearing, nothing huge yet but definitely new, and once you see them you can't unsee them. The rest of the interior is fine so it's clearly the seat I slide in and out of every day, and with the heat here I'm guessing that's accelerated it. I've been using a generic leather conditioner every couple of months but maybe that's not enough or maybe it's the wrong type, honestly I just grabbed whatever was on the shelf. Someone told me Expert care for Bentley paint and leather in Musaffah involves proper cleaning and conditioning with products matched to the leather type, which makes sense now that I think about it because not all leather is the same apparently. My question is whether fine cracks like this can be treated or fed to stop them getting worse, or if it's just the beginning of a slow decline. And is there a way to protect the bolsters specifically since that's where all the wear happens? Would also love to know if anyone's had seats refinished and whether it actually lasts in this climate.
